Equipment Inspection

Types of Inspections:

  • Technical Analysis 1:
    Comprehensive walk around inspection, plus Cat® ET download.
  • Technical Analysis 2: sosa-pl-screen
    Technical Inspections of the hydraulic system and visual checks for leaks and damage. All hydraulic cylinders undergo a drift test, and cycle times, relief valve settings, pump flow and steering times are all verified are performed by seasoned Rimco service technicians annually or when required.
  • CTS (Custom Track Service):
    Assessment of the wear of individual undercarriage components with repair recommendations to minimize cost and maximize undercarriage life.
  • CHS (Custom Hydraulic Service):
    Technical inspections of the hydraulic system and visual checks for leaks and damage. All hydraulic cylinders undergo a drift test, and cycle times, relief valve settings, pump
    flow and steering times are all verified.

 

Fluid Analysis

Scheduled Oils Samples (S.O.S.) is a proprietary process designed to turn fluid analysis data into valuable information that can be sued to manage equipment and reduce operating costs. Regular fluid sampling and analysis through S.O.S. gives you detailed information about oil, coolant, hydraulic oil and fuel condition, as well as component wear and more. It can detect excessive wear in a component, presence of dirt or water, contamination in the fuel or coolant, viscosity in the oil or oxidation and sulphate levels. Cat S.O.S. fluid analysts know Cat equipment inside and out, making it the best, most knowledgeable source for sophisticated fluid analysis. An S.O.S. can help prevent a failure or quickly determine the cause of a failure in the components of your equipment. Please refer to your operations and maintenance manual to determine the specific intervals of your equipment; recommended SOS intervals are 250 hours for engines and 500 hours for transmissions, hydraulic systems, final drives and differentials.

 

Equipment History

Electronic Data

Electronic equipment data is the information that comes from the machine itself, through Cat Product Link and its easy-to-use interface, called VisionLink. Cat Product Link enables customized health and utilization reports.
