RIMCO contributes to the construction of an Energy Microgrid to ensure Medical Services for patients with Chronic conditions in Jayuya

Jayuya, Puerto Rico – As part of its commitment to community well-being and corporate social responsibility, Rimco joined the multisectoral initiative that made possible the development of an energy microgrid for the Ven-Rose Foundation in Jayuya. This initiative ensures the continuity of essential medical services for cancer patients, those with kidney conditions, and other chronic illnesses.

The project brought together more than a dozen companies, organizations, and volunteer engineers with the goal of creating a resilient energy infrastructure capable of maintaining operations even during electric service interruptions. As part of this alliance, Rimco actively participated in the project’s development by contributing equipment and collaborating in the implementation of the backup power generation system within the microgrid. As part of this effort, Rimco assumed a portion of the generation system costs as a demonstration of its commitment to community impact and energy resilience initiatives.

Rimco donated a 19kW Cat® Generator as a testament to this commitment. The microgrid includes 108 solar panels, storage batteries, inverters, and a 19kW Cat® generator that will keep critical medical equipment and treatments running during emergencies or power outages. This type of system integrates multiple energy sources to operate independently or connected to the traditional power grid, offering greater stability, efficiency, and operational continuity for essential facilities such as hospitals, community centers, and medical facilities.

At Rimco, we firmly believe in using our resources and expertise to contribute to initiatives that transform lives,” said Moisés Colón, BSEE – CAT Power Systems Sales Professional.
